 The 2015 Re-Read Challenge
We’ve come to the shocking realization that we can’t remember the minute details of some of our favorite books, as well as of some books at the beginning of series that we are hoping to continue in the near future.  Therefore, we decided that Belle of the Literati and So Obsessed With’s 2015 Re-Read Challenge was the perfect opportunity to organize our rereads for 2015.

Classics Challenge

As the year comes to a close, we both came to the shocking realization that we’ve allowed our classics on our TBR shelf to get a bit out of hand.  To provide ourselves with some incentive to get a head start on these, we’ve decided to join the Grown-Up YA’s 2015 Classics Challenge.  To participate in the challenge, each of us will pre-select one classic to read per month.  We’ll have to stick to this schedule throughout the year to successfully complete the challenge.  Wish us luck! Out of Hand TBR Challenge

Sarah and I have been dying for a little healthy competition between the two of us!  Ok, maybe I should speak for myself.  Anyway, we stumbled across a similar challenge on It’s All About Books and immediately fell in love with the concept (you can check out the original post that served as our inspiration here).  We’ve decided to add a bit of our own twist creating our own 2015 challenge…The Out-Of-Hand TBR Challenge!

Buddy Read

Summary
Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Ninety-five days, and then I’ll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It’s hard to be patient. It’s hard not to be afraid while I’m still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn’t touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don’t.

As 2014 draws to a close, we bookaholics have one last opportunity to amass a large volume of books in a short time period (every to-read shelf’s worst nightmare): Christmas.  While some people may be asking for laptops, or phones, or cars this holiday season, we composed a quite lengthy list of books that we promptly distributed to anyone who asked.  We figured we would share our lists with all of you, and we’ll follow this post up with a book haul later this week to show everyone what we received!

About three things I was absolutely positive:

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him – and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be – that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

When Bella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.

Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.

Olivia’s Introduction

Hi everyone!

My name is Olivia, and I’m a 16 year old reader/reviewer from the United States with a passion for horseback riding, baking, writing, and, of course, books! I am currently a full-time high school student, so I’m forced to fit all of these things into an already hectic schedule. I’ve definitely had my fair share of late nights reading!
