All Hallows’ Read

With Halloween right around the corner, I’m extremely excited to announce a new project that I’ve been working on with Kathy over at The Novelty of Life!

For several months, Kathy and I have been wracking our brains for a creative way to incorporate the holidays into our blogging – we wanted to see more festive posts, holiday-themed book recommendations, challenges, and read-a-thons, etc.  Noticing the relative lack of these holiday-related components, particularly in the book blogging community, we concocted a solution that quickly adopted the name “Festive Reads.”

Festive Reads is a collection of specifically holiday-oriented read-a-thons, bookish mini-challenges, prizes, giveaways, etc. that will be held four times per year.  These read-a-thons are open to readers/bloggers/booktubers of any age, reading interests, locations, etc. and are meant to be a non-imposing form of celebrating the holidays with others who share a similar passion for reading.

Our first read-a-thon, All Hallows’ Read, begins this Sunday at 12:01 am, and it would mean the world to us if you could spread the news!  More information and sign-ups for the read-a-thon can be found on the Festive Reads Blog.

And on that note, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!

I am a freshman in college and an avid reader/reviewer, horseback rider, and graphic designer.  Since a young age, I have fostered a love of reading, beginning with my forays into the Nancy Drew series.  I’ve branched out significantly in my reading tastes since then, and my favorite genres include young adult, romance, mystery, and thriller.  I’m constantly trying to expand my horizons, however, so I do dabble in other genres.  While I’m not reading, I volunteer at a hippotherapy center and a veterinary clinic, practice agility with my dogs, play piano and guitar, and sketch.
