Here at Brewing Up Books, we use a five cauldron system to rate the books, movies, and TV shows that we discuss from week to week.  As an extremely indecisive person, I often struggle with determining a numerical rating for each work that I review, and half cauldrons do nothing to improve matters.  After all, what distinguishes a book that receives 3 cauldrons from one that receives 3.5?  Are they really all that different?

Please Welcome Our New Cobloggers!

As summer draws to a close and the school year starts up in full swing, we decided it was time for an additional coblogger. About a week and a half ago, we started our search with this post, and we’ve had an overwhelming response. It was extremely challenging to make a decision, particularly because all of the candidates were extremely qualified and excellent reviewers. Ultimately, it came down to who most closely shared our reviewing style and reading tastes in order to appeal to our current audience.

Social media is an integral component of modern society – it’s practically a miracle to have a face-to-face conversation with someone without either of you glancing at a smartphone, snapping a selfie, checking Facebook, responding to text messages, etc.  In our technologically savvy world, your online presence can make or break your blog, regardless of whether you’ve just started out or you’re a weathered veteran who’s been posting for years.
